Otraco expands operations in Southern Africa
Expanding its reach into Southern Africa, Otraco has been awarded three new contracts for tyre management totalling over $40 million.
In what will be Otraco’s biggest ever mobilisation to site (with an anticipated workforce of 128 employees), it was awarded a three-year contract with Anglo American Ltd at Sishen Mine; the largest open cut mine in Africa.
It also secured a three-year contract with Debswana Ltd to provide tyre management services at its Orapa, Lethlakane and Damtshaa diamond mines in Botswana. Debswana – the world’s leading producer of diamonds – is a partnership between De Beers Group and the government of Botswana.
Further cementing its presence in Southern Africa, Otraco has also been awarded its first-ever contract in Namibia – a three-year contract with Swakop Uranium for tyre management at Husab Mine.
The continued growth of Otraco’s overseas operations is a testament to the outstanding reputation of the business, as well as its ability to build effective relationships with new and current clients.
The Otraco team at Sishen start their first shift at the site.
