Otraco is a services oriented company. Our most important resources are our team of trained, qualified and experienced employees, and the systems that they apply to their tire maintenance, consultancy and management functions. These systems have been developed and refined by Otraco since 1972 to keep us at the forefront of earthmover tire management and cost minimization.

Otraco’s technical team has been responsible for most of the earthmover tire management breakthroughs that have now been routinely adopted by the mining industry worldwide – from something as simple as out virtually universally adopted tire position numbering system, to sophisticated tire life projection and analysis tools and relative performance warranty systems. Equally important are the safety, training and environmental systems that need to be applied to tire maintenance and operation.

Formal systems are in place to encourage knowledge sharing and innovation via regular internal seminars, external training programs and internet-based data networks which feature an extensive technical resource library.

All of these systems form part of the Otraco methodology and form an integral part of our tire management service. Two, Otracom™ and OMS, have been developed into products in their own right and can be purchased independently of Otraco’s tire management, consultancy and training services.

OMS (Otraco Management System)
This is another proprietary internet based management system. It provides ready access to a comprehensive library of technical papers, work and safety procedures and policy documents. It incorporates a complete tire and rim related specification plan covering, for each tire size and equipment application, tire pressure settings, tire monitoring frequency, sealant quantity, wheel nut torque settings, retorque policy, rim MPI checking frequency, equipment calibration policy, etc.

OMS is designed to ensure service excellence and consistency and has been developed in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 Quality System standard.

FRONTRUNNER RELATIVE PERFORMANCE WARRANTY
Otraco first developed the relative performance guarantee in 1982 to provide an effective and equitable system of warranty for haul truck tires and to overcome many of the problems inherent in traditional guarantee systems. Following a number of refinements based on experience and feedback from Clients and tire suppliers, this has developed into the Frontrunner Warranty system.

Frontrunner Warranty requires all tire suppliers to warrant that the performance of their product matches, in operating cost terms, the benchmark set by the best performing tire fitted for the same application durin
